I loved to dance - always. Movement was Heaven!!

I craved feeling alive, moving, in every inch of my being.

But – I was trapped in a body that wouldn’t do what I desired, trapped with feelings that distorted and stopped me.

I was disconnected, I couldn’t express my being.

I started going to ballet classes, first in Jerusalem - my birthplace, then Tel Aviv, then ballet school in London! Then Rumania!!!!! (I wanted Russian training.)

I worked hard, forcing my body to do what I was sure it was holding back from me, searching for that freedom to fully express ecstasy. I never found my way because my structure would not support my vision. Slowly the magic and joy drifted from my spirit. I was left with a body filled with pain and the loss of hope that I would ever fulfill the dream to feel free, to be beautiful in my body, to flow with life, and to dance.

I stumbled into my first Pilates lesson, and unexpected answers appeared regarding my structure. Very quickly I started assisting in the studio and within a year, was teaching.

Then I took my first yoga class - I started teaching that as well.

Teaching brought much to light. I looked deeply and carefully at everyone. There was a reason why one person was loose in the hips, another was tight, why this person had a beautiful long back, why someone else was stiff and hunched over. Below the surface shape was an inner structuring everyone responded to and reorganized from. When they got in touch with their inner shape they were instantly happy. I saw how working properly exposed the weaknesses and then began to correct them. It opened people to a symphony of possibilities.

This was when my life changed. As I learned to help others I began to understand myself, began to unravel old injuries, shift out of unconscious old habits. I began to achieve that technique I always aspired to. I began to feeling within myself the magic of my desire. I began to feel free, to move with joy and beauty… and to dance.

Niedra currently teaches classes out of Absolution in West Hollywood and Simpatico in Montecito.

She teaches workshops from various locations (see her full schedule in the Pilates and Workshop section).

Niedra is an affiliate teacher trainer with Power Pilates.

She is training as a trapeze artist and creating an act which inculdes aireal arts.

She offers nutritional programs that support anti aging and physical training.

Niedra is also the creator and faciliatator of a weekend transformational training called the Dream Machine.
